The Age Launches Melbourne Assembly

As Melbourne reckons with what it means – and what it takes – to be Australia’s largest city, The Age and University of Melbourne have teamed up to present Melbourne Assembly. A forum held at Fed Square this October, Melbourne Assembly will bring planners and the public together to talk about the civic life we're building now.

Our work on Melbourne Assembly has included a breadth of collaboration with Channel 9, including assisting with designing a line up fit for conversations about cities. The three-day program features thinkers and doers like former New York City Mayor – and influence on current Mayor Zohran Mamdani – Bill de Blasio, '15 minute city' pioneer Carlos Morenos, Grattan Institute CEO Aruna Sathanapally, City of Sydney Deputy Lord Mayor Jess Miller, and will be moderated by journalists and editors at The Age.

Melbourne Assembly was launched Monday to subscribers of The Age, with tickets becoming available to the wider public – and the full program being announced – in the coming days.
